Hello!!

Now we've got that out of the way, how's it going? (IYKYK)

L.M. Pirie -Lisa- is a romance author from the North East of Scotland. Living on the coast with her wife and their demonic cat, every day is filled with wit, sarcasm, and plenty of excitement.

Creating stories that are relatable, compelling, and laced with emotional tension, Pirie tries to take as much inspiration from the magnificent scenery surrounding her, and hopes her readers will resonate with the fictional storylines she produces.

Predominately writing for LGBTQ+ readers, Pirie holds a strong interest in promoting diverse and under-represented relationships.

With character driven plots and true to life quirks, each story explores the interesting dynamic of love, and our need for human connection.

How it started...

Having never had any inclination to write (admittedly, she wasn't all that good at English at school either), Lisa surprised everyone when she annouced she was planning on publishing a book. The idea hadn't been well thought out, and it certainly wasn't a serious declaration. Well, until it was.

The initial remark had arisen after a very long, very tedious drive home. Listening to an audiobook that clearly wasn't a story meant for Lisa, she found herself getting irrate and barking about poor representation for both queer and Scottish characters (the accent was horrific). The words "I'm going to write a book, and it's going to be bloody brilliant!" rang out across the coastline. Oh, how frivolous it felt at the time.

Having mostly read crime novels, the world shook it's head when L.M stated she was writing sapphic romance. What is this crazy woman doing!? Hah, you should have seen their faces when they were told it would be a series!

Her wife smiled and nodded, "that's what to do, Lisa." Her best friends jumped up and down at the idea of a 'famous author' being in the circle of trust. Her parents... well, they didn't know until a few months after the book was released in October 2025, and the demonic cat casually 'meowed' and walked off in search of tuna. Traitor.

Anyway, that's a rapid run through of how Tangled Lines came about, and the initial evolution of L.M. Pirie's book writing journey. It hasn't been all sunshine and roses, despite the genre. Lisa manages to jump from subject to subject without much thought or theory, in truth, she hadn't expected to be writing like a serious author, but here she is, constantly thinking, continuously adapting, and hopefully bringing joy to many.
